Empirics of Management: An Academic Excellence Programme at LSE

Outline
Empirics of Management: An Academic Excellence Programme at LSE´ in collaboration with
the Fundación Rafael Del Pino, combines the best of LSE´s world class teaching and research in
the field in a specially-designed format for young Spanish academics who have a strong
background in economics, finance or other related social sciences. This programme will seek to
train a cadre of first-class Spanish participants who will take the knowledge absorbed at LSE and
impart that knowledge back in Spain, and thus helping to multiply the impact of their individual
training and experience. The programme will provide excellent capacity building by helping young
academics in Spain with the skills and intellectual frameworks needed to provide current and
future leadership in academia.
The programme itself will be a 4 day intensive course at LSE from Monday 4th to Friday 8th September 2017.
Successful applicants will receive full funding for the programme as well as
accommodation in London for the duration of programme.
Programme
A final programme will be sent to the selected participant two weeks before the start date. A
provisional outline can be found below. Participants who successfully complete the programme
will receive a Certificate of Achievement from LSE.
Over the four days, participants will undertake study sessions on the following topics.
Measuring Impact of Management on Firm Performance
Information Technology, Productivity and the Organisation of Firms
Firm Capabilities and Market Structure
Technology, Globalization and Beyond
Corporate Governance
Advance Qualitative Research Methods in Management
Social Interactions in Organisations
Role and Effects of Top Executives in Corporations
Logistical Information:
The programme will take place at the London School of Economics in central London
Successful participants will receive access to LSE Library as well as IT network for the
duration of the programme
Tuition, course materials, certificates, accommodation for 5 nights (check-in Sunday,
checkout Friday) will be covered by Fundación Rafael Del Pino, if selected. However, you
will be responsible for flights, travel expenses and meals
Accommodation will be at an LSE Residence close to the LSE. Selected participants will
have a private room with en-suite bathroom
Application Process:
Places are limited to 25 participants. Successful candidates will be offered a place on merit by a
Selection Committee consisting of representatives of LSE and Fundación Rafael del Pino by
Monday 12th of June 2017.

Fundación Rafael del Pino generously covers tuition and accommodation for five nights in London
during the programme. However, flights and meals are not included and are the responsibility of
the participant. An application fee of 300 € is payable directly to the Fundación Rafael del Pino for
applicants who successfully receive a place on the programme.

Sólo hay un requisito, ser español.
Cualquier estudiante puede "aplicar", puesto que lo que importa es la trayectoria.

Gracias de nuevo. Lo decía porque he visto la foto de los que lo cursaron el pasado año y todos ellos eran, por edad, mínimo graduates.Veterano escribió:Buenos días:

Aproximadamente un mes después del cierre de la convocatoria se conocerán los admitidos.

No sé hasta qué punto un estudiante de D+ADE (aunque académicamente excelente, eso sí), tiene posibilidades de ser seleccionado. Supongo que serán reducidas.

Por la descripción desde luego parece que es solo para gente que se quiera dedicar a la docencia, entiendo que profesores, doctorandos etc.?
